Before and After: Lazy River

River photo shoot in fall 2018 at the Honey Run Falls outside Millwood, Ohio.

Editing
After doing some basic raw editing using ON1 Photo Raw 2019, I moved to the Effects panel and started with a Color Enhancer filter to make the colors vibrant. Next I used the Color Adjustment filter to bring the blues out in the sky and a warm polarizer filter from the Photo Filter to bump the warmth fall colors. Then I used a texture to darken the river and a simple curves adjustment for contrast. Finally, finished it off with a film border.

Before and After: Honey Run Park Forest

Editing a shoot I took in fall of 2018 at Honey Run Fall outside Millwood, Ohio, using ON1 Photo Raw 2019.

Editing:
Starting with a Vintage Matte LUTs followed by a Tone Enhancer filter to add contrast. With the Photo Filter, I applied an orange tone and to give it more of an fall style, I used the Fall preset in the Color Enhancer filter. A postcard texture was then added and a round Lens Blur was applied. Then comes a Vignette and finish it off with a sloppy border.

Before and After: Once We Get To That Bridge

Returning to the Honey Run Falls outside Millwood, Ohio with this shot of one of the bridges you will find. The original was not exciting and colorful so editing definitely was needed.

Editing:
This time, I used Adobe Photoshop and used the ON1 Photo Raw as a plugin. Opening the photo in Adobe Photoshop as a smart object, then open the ON1 Photo Raw plugin. Inside ON1 Photo Raw, I started with a Color Enhancer filter and applying the Fall preset. Next, a Vintage filter was added suing the Red-Yellow preset to boost the warmth of the photo. To give it some HDR look, I applied the HDR filter with a natural preset. A Lens Blur was then used and I used the brush to paint out the blur in the photo on the bridge and surrounding area to keep only the parts of the photo that I wanted to stay in focus. A crumpled paper texture was added, followed by a simple Vignette filter. Another texture was added, this time a light leak texture, and another texture, this time a bokeh texture on top of that was applied. Finally a film border was used to finish it off. Back in Photoshop, I added a orange-brown fill and set the blend mode to Soft Light, then used a mask to paint in the color around the edge of the photo to complete the effect.

Before and After: Get Out Of My Shot!

Last fall, while at the Honey Run Falls outside Gambier, Ohio, I was composing this shot but the there were people around. The people is this photo just would not move on. I waited and waited but I just could not wait FOREVER, so I took the shot figuring I will photoshop them out when I got home. But after looking at the photo, I decided to leave then in, it helps the scale of the trees and the falls in the background. And yes, that is the falls at Honey Run Falls in the background. It is no Niagara Falls for sure.

Editing:
Using once again ON1 Photo Raw, I started with a basic LUTs called Thoreau followed by a Color Enhancer filter using the Fall preset. Next came a Tone Enhancer to bring out the whites and increase details. Sunshine filter was added to brighten up the photo and a tilt shift Lens Blur was applied. Then a Rice Paper Dark texture was applied with the Textures filter and a vignette was applied too. The photo was finished off with a simple black letterbox border.

Before and After: Leaves on the River

Needs a little imagination to take a simple photo and turn it into something interesting. This picture was photographed at Honey Run Falls park just outside Millwood, Ohio. It is just a plain simple shot of some leaves just floating on the river surface. Using ON1 Photo Raw, I was able to take it to a new level. With boosting the colors, add some warmth, some light leak, a little bit of lens blur and a cool border, this simple plain photo become something that is a eye catcher!

Before and After: Popping Fall Colors

Fall colors around here do not POP like they do in other parts of the United States, so photos are not so colorful. But with a little help, they can be.

With this photo I took at Honey Run Park outside Millwood, Ohio, I used my favorite Photoshop plugin, ON1 Photo Raw 2019. In Photo Raw, I started with a simple vignette and then added a Glow filter. Next, I applied a LUTs called Keen and used the Tone Enhancer filter to brighten the whites and darken the blacks. Then a Photo Filter using the Tobacco color was added, then added a little bit of Dynamic Contrast followed by a Metal Grunge Vignette texture. To make those fall colors pop, I applied a Color Enhancer using the Foliage setting. Finally, I applied a Lens Blur and a simple white rounded border.
