Before and After: WACO Reunion | June 29, 2019

WACO Reunion final days are almost over until next year. It was a nice sunny blue sky type of day and we had some nice vintage biplanes on hand like this one.

Editing:
Edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2019, starting with a HDR Look filter and a Tone Enhancer filter. Next, I applied a Color Enhancer filter to make the color of biplane pop out and the grass more greener than it was. Then I applied a Keen LUTs and a tilt shift Lens Blur. And finally, a big softy vignette was added to finish it off.

WACO 2019 is here!

The WACO Reunion is here. The event happens every last week of the month of June. I got a short visit to the event but did not get many photos as there where very few planes there. Hopefully, more will show up later this week or this weekend. So, here is a shot I took earlier of a vintage WACO biplane and edited using ON1 Photo Raw.

Before and After: Vintage White Baron

Each year, Wynkoop Airport, a small grass field airport, hosts the WACO Reunion. The event has vintage planes and their owners fly in for the event and the public can come to check out these old planes in which most are WACO biplanes. These old planes were manufactured by The Waco Aircraft Company in Troy, Ohio between the 1920s and late 1940s before the company closed in 1947.

You can read more about The Waco Company at this link:

Yon can find out more about the WACO Reunion held in Mount Vernon, Ohio at:

Editing:
Using ON1 Photo Raw, I started with a LUTs called Vintage Matte before applying a Tone Enhancer to increase contrast. Then I added a orange Photo Filter and a Color Enhancer using the Fall setting. Next comes a postcard texture plus a vignette and finished off with a antique border.

Before and After: Vintage Biplane

Creating a vintage effect to a photo shot during the WACO Reunion in 2017.

Editing:
Starting with a Black & White filter in ON1 Photo Raw 2019 to set the basic black and white foundation. Next came a Dynamic Contrast filter using the Soft preset. Then a Photo Filter using the Tobacco preset (I love what this preset does to some photos) and then a rounded Lens Blur was applied. I used a texture called 2LO-TWILIGHT 10 that I got off the ON1 site, it is part of a Twilight textures pack. A vignette was added and a border was applied. Finally, a second texture called Cracked Paint 03 was applied to the border to finish off the effect.

Before and After: The White Baron

Taking a picture I shot in June 2017 from the yearly WACO Reunion event held on last weekend of June. The event is held at the Wynkoop Airport in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Flyers fly in for the event from various parts of the country to this small grass runway airport in which they spent two to three days at. This years 60th Anniversary will be June 25th to the 30th, they added two extra days to offer people more opportunity to come out to check out this vintage planes. The vintage aircrafts come from the Waco Aircraft Company (WACO) which was located in Troy, Ohio (USA) and were produced between 1919 and 1947. You can read the history of the Waco Company here.

For the editing of this photo, I used only ON1 Photo Raw 2019. After doing some basic adjustments in the Develop section, I moved to the Effects to create a photo that had some vintage look. First, I started with a LUTs called Vintage Matte (Rome). Next, I applied a cool Vintage filter and then a Tone Enhancer to increase the Contrast. Color Adjustment filter was then added to adjusted the Red, Yellow and Green in the photo by Hue/Saturation as well as the brightness. I then added a Curves filter with a slight S-curve. To give the photo a more vintage look, I added a postcard texture with the Textures filter. Then a tilt shift blur was applied with the Lens Blur filter and a subtle vintage was added. The photo was finished off with a sloppy border (no.3).
