Before and After: Oh Little Pond

One of the little features in The Brown Family Environmental Center just outside Gambier, Ohio, is a cute little pond. The pond consist of fish and frogs, and there are chairs to sit back and enjoy the day.

Editing:
Using once again ON1 Photo Raw 2019, I started with a Color Enhancer filter with the Foliage preset to make the greens pop out. Then I applied a Color Adjustment filter to darken the green colors followed by a Photo Filter using the Tobacco preset. Next comes a rounded Lens Blur and a bokeh Texture. I used a Curves filter to add some contrast before finishing it off with a film style border.

Before and After: Once We Get To That Bridge

Returning to the Honey Run Falls outside Millwood, Ohio with this shot of one of the bridges you will find. The original was not exciting and colorful so editing definitely was needed.

Editing:
This time, I used Adobe Photoshop and used the ON1 Photo Raw as a plugin. Opening the photo in Adobe Photoshop as a smart object, then open the ON1 Photo Raw plugin. Inside ON1 Photo Raw, I started with a Color Enhancer filter and applying the Fall preset. Next, a Vintage filter was added suing the Red-Yellow preset to boost the warmth of the photo. To give it some HDR look, I applied the HDR filter with a natural preset. A Lens Blur was then used and I used the brush to paint out the blur in the photo on the bridge and surrounding area to keep only the parts of the photo that I wanted to stay in focus. A crumpled paper texture was added, followed by a simple Vignette filter. Another texture was added, this time a light leak texture, and another texture, this time a bokeh texture on top of that was applied. Finally a film border was used to finish it off. Back in Photoshop, I added a orange-brown fill and set the blend mode to Soft Light, then used a mask to paint in the color around the edge of the photo to complete the effect.

Spring is Finally Here!

Spring is finally here and yesterday I went out on my first walk in the park. The Ariel-Foundation Park is not pretty right now but wait for the weather to get warmer and the spring showers to bring life back to the park.

Also, this is the first time I got out my Canon 5D Mark III this year and shot any photos with it. I am not one to get out during the winter months, I hate the cold weather. But here is the first new photo of the year and edited only using ON1 Photo Raw.

Before and After: Get Out Of My Shot!

Last fall, while at the Honey Run Falls outside Gambier, Ohio, I was composing this shot but the there were people around. The people is this photo just would not move on. I waited and waited but I just could not wait FOREVER, so I took the shot figuring I will photoshop them out when I got home. But after looking at the photo, I decided to leave then in, it helps the scale of the trees and the falls in the background. And yes, that is the falls at Honey Run Falls in the background. It is no Niagara Falls for sure.

Editing:
Using once again ON1 Photo Raw, I started with a basic LUTs called Thoreau followed by a Color Enhancer filter using the Fall preset. Next came a Tone Enhancer to bring out the whites and increase details. Sunshine filter was added to brighten up the photo and a tilt shift Lens Blur was applied. Then a Rice Paper Dark texture was applied with the Textures filter and a vignette was applied too. The photo was finished off with a simple black letterbox border.

Before and After: Getting Some Vintage Love

Returning to car shows with this classic ride. Photographed at last year's Dan Emmett Festival car show.

Editing:
First I used ON1 Photo Raw 2019 to merge three exposures to create a HDR photo to start with. Next comes a Black & White filter in which I used to give the photo a sepia effect. To give the photo more of a old photo look, I using the Cross Process filter to add a touch of yellow to the photo. Then a simple Curves filter was added to bump up the contrast and a Film Grain filter was used to add some grain to the photo to add some old film effect. Next, I added a film texture called lomofilm5 from a Lomo film collection I found online a few years ago. Then a simple vignette was applied as well as a rounded Lens Blur. Photo was then finished off with a Movie Camera border.

Spring Is Getting Near!

I thought I share a photo I took in June of 2018 at the Schnormeier Gardens outside Gambier, Ohio. The gardens are open to the public one weekend a year in the month of June. I really can't wait for summer to arrive! Editing was done in ON1 Photo Raw 2018.

Before and After: Bronze Truck

Spring is around the corner and that means car shows are not to far away! So here is a little taste of a local car show. I love the warmth of the final edited photo, it reflects the warm hot summer morning of the day.

Editing:
So starting with a LUTs from ON1 Photo raw 2019, I applied one called Vintage Chrome from the Lutify-me LUTs. I think this was those that one can download from ON1 site. Next comes a Tone Enhancer filter which I used for opening up the shadows. I added a little Sunshine filter to brighten the photo up and a Glow filter to soften the photo. A vignette was added and a Photo Filter using the 85 preset. Then finished it off with a simple Black Rounded border.

Before and After: Vintage Biplane

Creating a vintage effect to a photo shot during the WACO Reunion in 2017.

Editing:
Starting with a Black & White filter in ON1 Photo Raw 2019 to set the basic black and white foundation. Next came a Dynamic Contrast filter using the Soft preset. Then a Photo Filter using the Tobacco preset (I love what this preset does to some photos) and then a rounded Lens Blur was applied. I used a texture called 2LO-TWILIGHT 10 that I got off the ON1 site, it is part of a Twilight textures pack. A vignette was added and a border was applied. Finally, a second texture called Cracked Paint 03 was applied to the border to finish off the effect.
