Before and After: Bees of Black & White

I find I am enjoying using ON1 Photo Raw for creating black and white images. The textures, borders, lens blur, etc. allows me to be creative in the process. Here is an example from a shot I took at the Brown Family Environmental Center near Gambier, Ohio.

Editing
I started with a Tone Enhancer filter to add some contrast to the photo followed by a Black & White filter. To add more more detail contrast, I added aDynamic Contrast filter and added some film grain with the Film Grain filter. Then I added a film texture I found somewhere online. A Split Tone filter was used to add a very small amount of color to the photo. Another Tone Enhancer was applied but only to the background to darken it up so the bees and flower in the foreground stand out more. A Lens Blur then was added to blur the background. Photo was finished off with simple white border.

Before and After: April 13, 2019

Photographed during a simple walk through the local city park. A simple like nature shot along the lake.

Editing:
Once again, use ON1 Photo Raw 2019, I started with a simple LUTs called Vintage Matte. Then I applied a Tone Enhancer filter to increase the contrast and a Photo Filter to add warmth to the photo. A Color Enhancer filter was applied to give the photo more of a fall feel. Next comes a postcard texture and a Lens Blur filter. Finish off with a vignette and a emulsion border.

ON1 Photo Raw 2019.5 update is here!

The latest update to ON1 Photo Raw is now out! So far the exporting seems to be faster but I have had two or three crashes. It is too early for me to really give my opinion since I only worked on one photo (pictured).

Before and After: Old Flight

Taking a photo from the 2017 WACO Reunion event held in Mount Vernon, Ohio each year and turning the photo into something that kinda has a vintage effect.

Editing
Started with a Black & White filter in ON1 Photo Raw and then applied a LUTs called Honkey Tonk. I used the Noise Reduction to reduce some noise in the photo but not all. Next comes a Glow filter followed by a Metal Earth texture with a colorize with a kinda peach color. Another texture was added, this time a Light Leak (6) and then a tilt shift Lens Blur was applied. Then finished off with movie camera border to finish the effect.

Before and After: Little Red Corvette

Always love the classic Corvettes! Here is a shot from the 2017 Corvettes at Roscoe Village in Coshocton, Ohio. Editing done in ON1 Photo Raw 2019.

Editing
After doing some basic processing in ON1, I headed over to the Effects panel. I started with a Color Adjustment filter to punch up the reds followed by a Tone Enhancer filter to bring in the highlights and the whites. Next came a Vignette and finished with a Sunshine filter to brighten up the photo.

Before and After: Honey Run Falls (Fall 2018)

Taking another look back at my visit to the Honey Run Falls outside Millwood, Ohio.

Editing
After doing some minor adjustments in ON1 Photo Raw, in the Effects panel, I started with a Tone Enhancer filter. A Color Enhancer filter was then applied to bring out the colors which were then adjusted with a Color Adjustment filter. A warm polarizer Photo Filter was applied followed by a Glow filter. A postcard texture was added and a Curves adjustment was used to brighten the midtones. A subtle Lens Blur was applied as well as a vignette followed by a simple white border.

Before and After: Vintage White Baron

Each year, Wynkoop Airport, a small grass field airport, hosts the WACO Reunion. The event has vintage planes and their owners fly in for the event and the public can come to check out these old planes in which most are WACO biplanes. These old planes were manufactured by The Waco Aircraft Company in Troy, Ohio between the 1920s and late 1940s before the company closed in 1947.
